Join us for our 2nd Annual 5k and Fun Run to SMASH the stigmas surrounding people with disabilities in the United States and abroad. The event includes a timed 5k or Superhero Fun Run, real superheroes, kids activities, lawn games, refreshments, and a t-shirt! We encourage you to come in character and dress as your favorite superhero. This year we will be awarding team and costume prizes; and those participating in our Fun Run will be running alongside some of their favorite Superheroes! All proceeds will benefit Exceptional Connections International. We are a nonprofit organization whose mission is to educate professionals and parents in developing countries on how they can support individuals with special needs in their communities.

We’ve made a few updates to our 2nd Annual Smash the Stigma 5K! You don’t want to miss out on this year’s event!!

1. Our race medal ribbons are from Kibera, Kenya! They are beautiful and handmade by Moms we personally know and love, who have kids with special needs! They create jewelry and other accessories as a way to generate their own income. These ribbons give back to their work program!

2. We will be awarding 2 different prizes this year! 1: Best Dressed! This will go to an individual who participates in their best superhero costume. 2: Most Team Spirit! This will go to a team with the most creative name and creative costumes.
*You or your team can participate in either the 5K or Fun Run to be nominated for a prize.

3. We’ve updated our Fun Run Course, plus we’ve added superheroes to “run” along side of you! Fun Runners, get ready to walk, run, or roll with your favorite heroes!

Be sure to register by September 1st to ensure you get a Smash the Stigma t-shirt!

*Both 5k and Fun Run courses are wheelchair accessible and ADA compliant.

Preregistration:

$15- 1 Mile Fun Run

$25- Timed 5k

**$3 per participant discount will be applied to groups of 5 or more.

$25- Spirit Runner (includes t-shirt)

Day of Registration:

$20- 1 Mile Fun Run

$35- Timed 5k

*Children ages 3 and under are free and do not require a registration.
