The Boulevard Bolt, organized by volunteers, is a collaborative effort of Immanuel Baptist Church, St. George’s Episcopal Church and The Temple Congregation Ohabai Sholom in Nashville. Since 1994, the Boulevard Bolt has grown from 2,500 participants to over 7,500 participants. Today, the Boulevard Bolt ranks among the largest 5-mile races in the country. More importantly, we have donated $3,395,000 to the homeless community in Nashville.
The 2019 Boulevard Bolt will be the 26th anniversary of this annual Thanksgiving Day event. Every year, people all over Nashville and beyond come together to run or walk the 5-mile course on Belle Meade Boulevard. Whether you are a competitive racer, or just want to walk with friends and family, the Boulevard Bolt is a fun event for all and a great way to celebrate the season of giving.
The efforts of many people make the annual Boulevard Bolt possible. Race week volunteers, led by a Steering Committee of volunteers from each congregation coordinate the preparation and race day events. In addition, many generous individuals, organizations and corporations sponsor The Boulevard Bolt and ensure that the funds are raised to help the homeless. All proceeds from the race go directly to local agencies working to end homelessness and offer support until that can be accomplished.
