KNOWLEDGE IS A POWERFUL TOOL AGAINST DRUG AND ALCOHOL ABUSE!
Please join us for the third annual Marisa's Purpose Run to Recovery.
You can register for this event here (www.marisaspurpose.org), Marisa's Purpose is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating youth and parents about drug and alcohol abuse.
Proceeds from last year's race helped four people get into recovery and one person return to Narcotics Anonymous. We have also been able to use funding to host Narcan (Naloxone) educating and training classes.
In addition to all of this, we visit as many schools as possible to talk to the students about the dangers of drugs, alcohol misuse, and how it affects the whole family.

NEW THIS YEAR
Marisa's Purpose 5k Walk/Run or 11 Mile Bike Ride to Recovery will start at 8:15 A. M. and begin and end at Allerton Park & Retreat Center in
Monticello, IL. We will have two separate events one event for Runners/walkers and one for the bikers.
In order for us to follow the CDC guidelines each event will be allowing up to 50 runners per race.
If we have overflow we will have staggered starts if needed to maintain social distancing.
((( DUE TO COVID-19 WE WERE UNABLE TO HAVE SALLY THE CLOWN JOIN US! )))
All proceeds from this Event will go to continuing educating our youth and the parents. My hope is that we can help as many people possible struggling with drug and alcohol misuse. This past year we have helped people get into recovery, return to NA (Narcotics Anonymous). January 22, 2020 we hosted a Narcan (Naloxone) educating and training class at Bement High School, and plan to host more. I visit as many schools as possible to talk to the students about the dangers of drugs alcohol misuse and how it affects the whole family.
Our guest speaker this year is Michael DeLeon with Steered Straight from Murfreesboro Tennessee. Mike has visited all the middle and high schools in Piatt County and Douglas County and part of Champaign. Mr. DeLeon also hosts a Parent Academy in Bement and Arthur, Lovington, Atwood, Hammond High Schools along with Staff Education Program for the schools. We had a welcoming response from the students, parents and staff. We appreciate your support for our organization and know that together, we can save lives.
