My Story…
I will be running the Pittsburgh Marathon and have chosen to fundraise for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a cruel genetic disorder that causes the body to produce thick mucus that can clog the lungs and obstruct the pancreas. There is currently no cure.
I have chosen to raise money for the CF Foundation in memory of my friend, Erin Leatherman. Erin was a vibrant and wonderful woman whose life was cut short when she passed away from complications due to CF several years ago after a double lung transplant was unable to save her life.
Fifty years ago, kids with CF didn’t live long enough to attend kindergarten. But today, because of the Foundation’s work, life expectancy and quality of life has improved greatly. But the work is not done.
Please join me in supporting the valuable work aimed at improving treatment and eventually finding a cure to this horrible disease so that one day, those like Erin will be able to live full and healthy lives. Thanks!

The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to cure cystic fibrosis and to provide all people with the disease the opportunity to lead full, productive lives by funding research and drug development, promoting individualized treatment, and ensuring access to high-quality, specialized care.
