The CVRR Learn To Run 5 K Clinic is starting soon. Get your running shoes on. There will be some changes of course, due the the COVID pandemic, but our mission is still to get you running.
This year we are going virtual. Due to current restrictions we have found it impossible to offer our usual group format. We don’t want COVID to prevent you from reaching your fitness goals so here is the next best thing to joining together in person.
CVRR will provide online resources to all participants including:
-Training plans for all levels, including walkers to more experienced runners. We will even have a program for those who want to build up to being able to walk 5 K at a brisk pace.
-Educational resources for all things running.
-Mentoring and ongoing support from experienced club members.
-An inspirational weekly message.
-Track your workouts on the results page (optional)
-CVRR membership is 100% discounted on registering.
3 CLINICS IN 1 .......
(1)Power/Race Walk Clinic....learn to put speed in your walk. Get the skills to finally take the next ʻstepʼ towards the sport of running.
(2)Walk/Run Clinic... Turn your spirited walk in to a 5K run in a safe, fun manner using the time tested walk/run method.
(3)Running Clinic.... Already doing a little running? or maybe you play a running sport like Soccer. This is the level for you.
(3) Race Clinic... although you may never want to actually RACE!! who can say they donʼt want to take their sport up a notch?? This level of our clinic takes folks who already run 5K or more and teach the skills needed to get the most out of your body and itʼs fitness.

Strong Walking Closed
Learn to power or race walk. This is not your regular walk....you will not be able to carry a coffee and check your emails! This should have you puffing and glowing....all in a good way. This was a new offering from our club last year and was well received. We certainly hope you enjoy this amazing style of workout. Especially good if you must stay away from the impact of running.

Walk Runner Closed
Never ran before? No problem. This program will take you slowly and carefully from an active walker to mainly running in the 10 weeks allotted. Our volunteer coaches remember their first running steps very well and are eager to help you achieve in your new running sport, just reach out with any questions or just to discuss your workout.

Returning Runner Closed
Have you strayed away from your running? Maybe you're very active (soccer for instance) but haven't really become a runner yet. This level may be for you. Begin with half running and half walking then slowly build up your strength and endurance over the 10 week period of the clinic until you are safely and happily running past the finish. Lots of good coaching and mentoring along the way will help you stay focused and injury free.

Runner/Racer Closed
Do you already run 5K distances fairly often? Do you yearn to learn how to increase your strength? stamina? speed? We will give you the skills you need to get you to those sometimes illusive goals. Maybe you already feel fast but injuries are always nagging at you.... our excellent volunteers can help you there as well. We will ask you to cover ground such as hills, speed play, tempo sessions, warm up/cool down, interval training and so much more. You will feel like a star.
