Goldy's Run 2020 is supporting the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital, an amazing state-of-the-(he)art institution which largely specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of Congenital Heart Defects. https://www.goldysrun.com/support The study and treatment of Congenital Heart Defects (CHDs) is one of my passions and is my area of research. CHDs are structural deformations that children are born with, and they affect about 1 in every 100 births. There are many different defect classifications, and each classification can have person-to-person variation in presentation. Knowing this, I have had the privilege to be working with UMMCH to make 3D models to help visualize this variation, for surgical planning and more broadly for education. Learning more about CHDs and their presentations can help to advance future surgical techniques and treatments. Together, let's work to advance cardiac healthcare for children! :)
