Moving for Melanoma

Moving for Melanoma of Delaware was created by the vision of Michelle Lynn Rigney and Anna Marie Farro. Michelle and Anna met while going through cancer treatment and through their passion decided to turn something good of a bad situation. In 2007, together they founded Miles for Melanoma of Delaware. Recruiting family, friends, other Melanoma survivors and caregivers, Miles for Melanoma of Delaware was formed. Sadly, Michelle lost her battle with melanoma on June 17, 2008. During the 2008 and 2009 events, the committee raised more over $110,000 and was able to establish a grant in Michelle’s honor via the donation made to the MRF. Our efforts continue as we remember Michelle and all others who have suffered and lost due to this terrible disease. 

As of December 2012 our committee decided to no longer work under the umbrella of another organization, but to become its own entity. MOVING for Melanoma of DE was formed. This all-volunteer non profit focuses on building Awareness and Education about Melanoma, raises funds for Research and provides Support to those affected in our community.
