My team and I walk in memory of my dad who had Early Onset Alzheimer's Disease. My father started experiencing symptoms of Alzheimer's when he was only 52 years old. My father was such a kind and bright man; a database administrator who wrote poetry, a lover of his family, music and the Yankees. But this disease striped all that away. This disease is not simply forgetting one's keys. It is an unapologetic thief that steals memories, a person's very essence and dignity. Alzheimer's can be a tremendous financial burden, especially when it strikes early, cutting careers short and straining caregivers financially, emotionally, and physically. Our family supports this cause EVERY year because ALL proceeds go to Alzheimer's research! How many charities can say that??? Please consider contributing so we can end this disease once and for all!
