Below are the different volunteer teams needed, and what that duty entails. If you’d like to sign up for a couple of different slots, that is perfectly fine.
6:00am Setup Crew – This group helps us get the course setup and ready for a successful race. This is for the early risers.
7:30am Director Assistant - Work with the race day staff and assist as needed
7:30am Registration – This group handles race day signups, any race packets that need to be handed out yet, and security for bag check from the runners.
8:00am Race Medals – This group hands out the race medals to the runners and dogs as they cross the finish line. Two people for human medals, two for dog medals, and one to help keep those four stocked up or relief as needed.
8:00am Course Marshal’s – This group helps with safety and direction on the course. They are stationed throughout and help with where to turn, crossing traffic safely, and monitoring overall runner well being and contact the finish area or emergency personnel as needed.
8:00am Race Chase Team – For lack of a better way to put it, this duo will have a golf cart and will follow the race. They follow the final runner, make sure everyone finishes the race safely, cleans up the course as needed and lets course marshal’s and water stops know that the race has passed them and they may cleanup and leave. This is the only group that will span the entire course.
10:00am Cleanup Crew – This group are the closers. They help take everything down, pack up, and ensure the event area is cleaned up so Dakota Meadows doesn’t even know that we were there.
The actual race starts at 8:30 am and each group has varying times to be there, but all except the cleanup crew should be there by 8:00 at the latest.
