For participating in Chuck’s Virtual 5KM Run, Walk and Wheel for Dystonia

My Story…

The early signs of Dystonia started for me at the age of 9. I would walk on my left toes, keep my left hand closed tight, speech impediment started. It wasn’t until a few years later that I was diagnosed with Dystonia. Back in those day’s very little information was available about Dystonia. It wasn’t until grade 10 that I started using a wheelchair. For the next 5 years I competed in Ontario games for the disabled (Weightlifting, Shotput, 100M race). In 2015 I had DBS surgery (Deep Brain Stimulation).
