African Education Program

Your donation helps ensure that the African Education Program's Team in Kafue, Zambia can continue its life-saving COVID-19 response work and be ready to open the after-school center's doors as soon as it is safe. 

AEP's mission is to empower the youth of Zambia through education and leadership to break the cycle of poverty in their communities.

Our pilot after-school learning center in Kafue provides education and leadership opportunities to 400 girls and boys on a daily basis. However, it was closed on March 20, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The local team began working from home disseminating important health safety information and monitoring the effects of the virus locally. It became clear that beneficiaries would quickly become food deprived and that families had no ability to stay at home to try to flatten the COVID-19 curve in the community. Learn more about AEP's successful efforts thanks to the life-saving COVID-19 Emergency Relief Family Fund by visiting our webpage.
