My Story…
Finding a cure for the condition that causes Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) is near and dear to my heart, quite literally, since suffering one myself in January 2019. It has been heartening and amazing to see how far SCAD research has come even in the year and a half I have been involved with SCAD Research survivors group. Cardiologists and researchers at some of the nations top hospitals are leading the way with the latest research and treatments, and are getting closer to solving the mystery behind what causes SCAD. Funding for uncommon medical problems and research is sparse, however, which is why SCAD Research group is holding this virtual 5K fundraising event. (Virtual due to Covid.) SCAD survivors like me, who are able to participate, are kindly asking for donations from anyone who may feel inclined to give, and in turn, we will walk, jog, or run our individual 5Ks in support of continued vital research.
