About Building Homes for Heroes
Building Homes for Heroes® is strongly committed to rebuilding lives and supporting the brave men and women who were injured while serving the country during the time of the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan. The organization builds or modifies homes, and gifts them, mortgage-free, to veterans and their families. It’s our honor to support the men and women who have loyally and courageously served our country.
SAIC in 2013 joined forces with Building Homes for Heroes (BHH), a national nonprofit organization that builds and modifies homes and then gifts them — mortgage-free — to veterans and their families. To date, SAIC has donated eight homes to our military heroes through BHH, each time, taking a personal interest in the veteran and their families, and the sacrifices that they have made. Our 2020 hero is Navy Hospital Corpsman Second Class, Isaac Francois, who was surprised by the news of his new home during an emotional social media announcement. Francois and his family were presented with their mortgage-free home at a small ceremony in Lusby, MD on September 11th. Funds raised will cover the costs of construction and upgrades for the Francois home.
