How it Works
Get a team captain to register your team. The team captain will get an email giving them access to the Virtual Baton app. Use the app to invite runners to your team (up to four per team), and set the order that you’ll run in.
Your team members can be located anywhere in the world!
Run (or walk) as far as you want, upload your run to Strava, then use Virtual Baton app to pass a virtual baton to the next runner on your team. They get a notification telling them that they have the baton.
Any Strava activities that get completed while someone holds the virtual baton add distance to your team total.
Keep the baton moving through your team to gain distance. Follow your progress on the leaderboard and on a map to watch your team move around the island.
Complete the goal distance before the challenge ends to unlock chances at bonus prizes for your team!

Entry
Basic Team Entry - $40 per team ($10/runner)
Basic team entry includes:
- Entry for up to four runners
- Digital Big Island Relay badges
- Entry into the Big Island Relays prize draws
- A complete month long virtual relay experience with with friends (possibly a bit less than a month if you run really fast…)
Only the team captain needs to register. After you register you will receive a confirmation email with a team code that you can use to add runners to your team.

Relay Team - Basic Closed
Includes a basic relay team entry for a full team of up to four runners. Only the team captain needs to register. Do not add any additional team members when you register your team. You will receive a confirmation email with info on how to add team members after you register.
