Full Belly Friends of Shelby 5K

The Full Belly Friends of Shelby 5K is a virtual run
benefiting Shelby Park and Bottoms and
raising money for neighbors in need this Thanksgiving

With every race registration Friends of Shelby is collecting money and items for the Drkmttr Collective Free Store

Sign up to walk, jog, or run in the inaugural race. Race on your own course, or we’ll show you three routes through Shelby Park and Bottoms. Run on your own time, anytime Thanksgiving weekend - Wednesday, November 25 to Sunday, November 29.

WHAT IS A VIRTUAL RACE?

A virtual race is a race you can participate in from any location at your own pace, whether alone or with friends and family. Run, jog, or walk anytime between Wednesday, November 25 and Sunday, November 29^th, 2020. Race to beat your best time or run at your own pace.

Once you have completed your race, you will submit your results through this the Full Belly Friends of Shelby website - share your success and enter for a chance to win prizes. Post photos on Instagram or Facebook to share your race and connect with fellow participants using #FullyBelly5K. It’s that simple to Run. Walk. Give.

HOW IT WORKS IN DETAIL:

1) Register to race here.*

2) Complete your 5-kilometer run any time during November 25 – 29, 2020.

3) Submit your results to through this registration website by midnight November 29, 2020.

4) Watch for results on our webpage by December 1, 2020.

5) Watch the mail for your official 2020 Full Belly race t-shirt! (If you register by November 8, you will receive your race t-shirt prior to November 25. If you register after that date, you will receive yours after Thanksgiving/mid-December.)

*Cancellation/Refunds: Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund for this event. Since the Full Belly 5K is a charity race with 100% of the proceeds going to the Shelby Park and Bottoms and East Nashville neighbors in need, all sales are final.

WE DO MORE WORKING AS A TEAM

Thanks to our generous partners you can help raise even more for the Free Store when you gather your friends and register a team. For every team for 4 or more people Turnip Truck will donate 5 pounds of fruit and for every team of 8 or more we have a donor who will give an additional $100 - $50 to Friends of Shelby and $50 to the Free Store.

Friends of Shelby is collecting cash donations during race registration as well as nonperishable goods during packet pick up. All donations will go to the Drkmttr Free Store. Please consider supporting neighbors who are struggling during the COVID pandemic.

Friends of Shelby Park and Bottoms is the community based nonprofit with a mission to preserve, enhance and promote Shelby Park and Bottoms for everyone to appreciate and protect. We are committed to creating a world class park where everyone is welcome. In 2020 we’ve increased our impact in the park and our advocacy in the community – learn more about what we’re up to and all the benefits of Shelby Park and Bottoms.

The Drkmttr Free Store is a place where neighbors can share resources freely and no one will be asked questions or turned away. Drkmttr believes mutual aid is the best way to come together as a community during this pandemic. No one should be forced to pay for essential needs. Help the Free Store become a reliable, long-term resource that our community can depend on.

Donations made in addition to race registration will be used to purchase food and essential goods for the Free Store. Friends of Shelby will also be collecting goods for the store during packet pickup.
