Canadian Collegiate Ekiden

Discover the teamwork and competitive spirit of the Ekiden—virtually.

This relay race will inspire, motivate and test you as you prepare to compete against Canadian Collegiate teams from all over Canada. The idea started as a friendly competition between UBC-Okanagan, Trinity Western, University of Victoria and UBC's cross country team programs to crown the fastest mixed-gender Ekiden team. Due to interest from community, friends, family and alumni, we have invited you and your team to the challenge - can you beat these varsity teams?

Assemble a team of up to six participants. You'll each complete a distance between 5.1K and 10K, totalling the marathon distance and results will be posted to a global leaderboard. You can run your segment whenever / and wherever you want between those dates - you do not need to run as a relay at the same time / place - your team results are all added up to the leaderboard/results page. You will need to download an app (instructions following registration) to manage your segment and upload to results.


All levels welcome! Proceeds from the event will go to support these collegiate cross country program.

Restricted to current members of a varsity collegiate program in Canada: 10k (male)/ 8k (female) 8k (male) 6k(female) 5.1 (male) 5.1 (female)

Collegiate Invitational Challenger Closed

Can you beat these collegiate teams with your alumni, friends, family or community group? This relay is the same format at the Collegiate Invitational as 10/8/8/6/5.1/5.1km alternating men and women (starting with men, finishing with women). Price is per participant (not team) as each person registers separately and joins their team. The first person on a team should create a team name for their team members to join.
