NWPS Virtual Walk For Wildlife!

The Virtual Walk for Wildlife will be a socially-distanced, virtual fundraising walk which will focus on bringing community members together and raising awareness about environmental issues and ways we can support environmental preservation. All of the funds raised from this event will go towards allowing NWPS to provide more free wildlife education and stewardship programs to disadvantaged children and youth throughout the Lower Mainland and southern Vancouver Island. These programs are offered year round and are free of charge to ensure marginalized kids are given an equal opportunity to understand their interconnected relationship with wildlife and the importance of protecting it. In addition, NWPS are the stewards of Manley Farm Bird & Wildlife Sanctuary, which comprises a variety of habitats and uses of land. Mainly it provides a safe habitat for wildlife in the area, including some listed and endangered species such as the northern red-legged frog and barn swallow. There are many projects underway including a wetland restoration, sustainable farming plan development, infrastructure maintenance and education programs. NWPS is always active in a variety of restoration and clean-up projects.

Create a group of friends who all pledge to walk together or pledge to walk alone. Feel free to walk indoors or outdoors, as well as run, bike, ski, or any other way you can think of getting those kilometers in! You decide which bracket of distance you want to pledge, and you can even invite friends who aren’t participating to sponsor by becoming a fundraiser when you register for the event.
