NOTICE: Due to concerns over COVID 19, Hog Jog 2020 will be postponed until 2021. Thank you for understanding and stay safe.
OPIC’s Pork for a Cause Hog Jog is a 3.5km run/walk and 10km run held each year during the Ontario Pork Congress. 2020 marks the 15th year of Hog Jog! To celebrate, Hog Jog will plant a seed for the future.
Funds raised from the 2021 run will support the establishment a legacy fund, “HOG JOG Gives Back Fund” with the Stratford Perth Community Foundation (SPCF). The legacy fund will support our past and future great causes with an opportunity to apply for funds annually for special projects. Every year, including this year, there will be an opportunity for past Hog Jog Causes to submit a simple application for funds. Each year a cause will be selected to receive the funds. These funds will be unique in that there is no capital project requirement, funds could be used for a special project such as purchase of equipment or supplies or towards hiring to support a special plan
Our Honourary Hog Jog 2021 Chair is Doug MacDougald. Doug is a veterinarian with South West Ontario Veterinary Services, a Swine Herd Health Management practice based in Stratford. As the in-coming 2020 Stratford Perth Community Foundation chair, he believes in a strong local Community Foundation that can support our community - one that will grow and enjoy a strong continuing presence in our community now and into the future. Precisely the shared objective of the Hog Jog Gives Back Fund
