Our Story...
Sara loves everything about Camp Ooch and Trillium. She describes how everyone is so kind and she feels included and accepted there. She even wanted to spend her birthday at Camp.
She survived a rare malignant brain tumour diagnosed at three years old, but lives with the late effects of her treatment and requires daily medications and an injection. Overnight and week long camps with Camp Ooch and Trillium allows Sara to experience camp independently with support for her medical needs.
Camp Ooch and Trillium has an incredible impact on our lives. Sara gains confidence and independence in a safe and fun environment. Her family know she is well cared for.
She was thrilled to receive the special box of crafts and activities this summer when camp went virtual. She is getting involved in giving back through the teen program including their Duke of Edinburgh sessions.

A diagnosis of childhood cancer changes life in an instant.
For affected kids and families, it can suddenly feel like everything is about cancer. Camp Ooch offers a hopeful journey, where kids with cancer can just be kids, and families connect with a community of strength and support when they need it the most.
They are much more than a summer camp—they offer the social cure for childhood cancer. Their camp-inspired programs deliver fun, friendship, and community to 1,900 kids and 745 families year-round, all across Ontario. As a response to COVID-19, virtual camp and in-hospital programs continue to reach kids and families living in isolation, wherever they are.
