OOCH- ILLIUM HOUSE CHALLENGE
Thank you so much for visiting The York School’s Camp Ooch & Camp Trillium Virtual 10km fundraising page and HOUSE Challenge! Our Community Service Committee in collaboration with our Student Council is excited to continue our long-standing partnership with Camp Ooch in our Service As Action Week ‘Ooch-illium 2021’ where we will continue to live our community service motto, "Take a Stand, Lend a Hand”. Let us tell you a bit about the Magic of camp, and why this cause means so much to our community at York
Camp Ooch & Camp Trillium brings joy into the lives of kids and families affected by childhood cancer. Whether Campers are taking part in Overnight Camp, participating in activities while receiving treatment in hospital, or meeting new friends through special activities in communities across Ontario, they get to experience the healing power of fun, friendship, and self-confidence.The joy of kids getting to be just kids…that’s the Magic of Camp.

A diagnosis of childhood cancer changes life in an instant.
For affected kids and families, it can suddenly feel like everything is about cancer. Camp Ooch offers a hopeful journey, where kids with cancer can just be kids, and families connect with a community of strength and support when they need it the most.
They are much more than a summer camp—they offer the social cure for childhood cancer. Their camp-inspired programs deliver fun, friendship, and community to 1,900 kids and 745 families year-round, all across Ontario. As a response to COVID-19, virtual camp and in-hospital programs continue to reach kids and families living in isolation, wherever they are.
