I am a volunteer with the horse rescue and I go there daily to make grain buckets and give out snacks and generally spend time with the horses. It is a heavenly refuge and sanctuary and a forever home. The virtual marathon known as GoodLife virtual 5 km is to raise funds to help the horses, donkey and mules and 100% of proceeds go to the charity with tax receipts being issued. Please help support a very worthwhile cause.
Description
We rescue horses who need a forever home who come to Old Friends for a variety of reasons from retired race horses to ponies needing rehabilitation and tender loving care. Although we wish we could take on every horse in need of retiring or being rescued this is simply not the case. Space and resources are limited and each case is reviewed to determine the horse's unique needs and situation. In addition, prior to being accepted the horse is evaluated by a veterinarian to determine that they don't pose a risk to our existing Old Friends, as well as to evaluate the extent of their needs. We are constantly in need of funds for food, veterinarian care and farrier care.
