Old Dominion University Virtual Duathlon
April 1 - 30, 2021
The Old Dominion University (ODU) Triathlon is a long standing tradition that normally takes place on campus, however in 2021, Recreation & Wellness is hosting ODU's first ever Virtual Duathlon! The beauty of this new event is that you can participate from wherever you are and on any date that works best for you from April 1st through 30th. This event is inclusive and open to para-duathletes as well as first time duathletes.
6 Steps to Becoming a 2021 ODU Virtual Duathlete:
- Sign Up! Register online for just $35. You can also purchase a registration as a gift for a friend or donate to support the event!
- Get Connected. Follow @ODURecWell on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook to receive updates and encouragement for the ODU Virtual Duathlon event! We may not be together in person, but we are together online.
- Get Moving! Complete a 5 km (3.1 mile) run and 10 km (6.2 mile) bike ride from wherever you are! If you wish for this to feel like a traditional duathlon event, it is encouraged to complete both events within a 12 hour window. If you do not have access to a bike and you are a member of the ODU SRC, please email Abena at aagyapom@odu.edu to learn more about renting a bike from the ODU Outdoor Adventure Center.
- Track Your Movement. Keep track of your event distance and time through an app like Strava, Runkeeper, Apple Fitness, FitBit, or more. If you're unsure where to run or bike in the Hampton Roads area, check out the optional routes provided below. Please note these routes are not required and there will be traffic on the roads.
- Submit Your Time. Upon completing your duathlon, upload screenshots of your event stats to the virtual results webpage here.
- Receive Your Medal! Finisher medals will be mailed by April 2nd for those pre-registered or delivered within two week of your registration date if registered after April 2nd.
