PSP Toronto and Southwestern Ontario are offering a fun and creative basketball competition running through March 2021. We aim to promote physical activity and sport at a time when sports are limited, while complying to all community Covid-19 guidelines.
Participants do not have to be competitive basketball players to win - all it takes is some creativity. There are 2 events: Trick-Shot and Shooting. Participants may register for one or both of the events.
Open to:
Open to all Military Members and Toronto Rec Members.
Prizes:
Certificates: All participants will receive a certificate of completion on Race Roster
Raffle: 4 Raffle prizes to be drawn at the end of the event. All those who complete the challenge will be eligible. Check individual event details to find out how to gain extra raffle entries!
Medals: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place from the Trick-Shot contest with receive medals.
The Events:
Submissions: Participants will submit their video(s) via email (psptoronto.swo@gmail.com), Facebook Inbox (PSP Toronto) or Instagram Direct Message (@psp_toronto).
Trick Shot Event:
- Submit a video of their best trick shot (one submission per person)
- Videos must be 20 seconds or less
- You can use any kind of net (mini, official, makeshift, etc.)
- PSP will select the top 5 videos after the submission period
- The top 5 videos will be compiled into a video for all to vote on via social media
- Any tie in voting will move to a head to head vote
- Winner is video with most votes
- Video submissions due 21 March 2021. Voting period will be 23 - 30 March 2021
- Completion of this event will earn you 1 raffle entry
Shooting Contest:

- This contest is based on completion. There will be no designated winner, however completion will enter you into the raffle draw.
- Submit individual videos (no more than 10 seconds each) completing 1 layup, 1 free throw, 1 3-pointer and 1 half court shot. Video must show both the participant and net at all times. For example, you cannot film just the ball going into the net and claim it was a half court shot.
- I. Layup = 1 raffle submission
- II. Free Throw (6 paces from hoop) = 2 raffle submissions
- III. 3 Pointer (9 paces from hoop) = 3 raffle submissions
- IV. Half Court (17 paces from hoop) = 4 raffle submissions
- If you successfully make all 4 shots, you are eligible for a total of 10 raffle entries (1+2+3+4 = 10 total).
- Measurements are completed by your own paces or walking stride lengths
- Shots must be taken on a standard size net.
- Video submissions are due 21 March 2021
