The 2021 R4YC Virtual Challenge is now closed!
If you missed the medal pickup on June 18 & 19 email Krista at run4yourcause@gmail.com to make other arrangements. One option is to wait a couple weeks and get your medal at the MRA Ice Cream Run pickup. If I haven't heard from you by June 26, It'll be sent to you via Canada Post. Thanks:)
Medals/Buffs can be picked up at the Running Room on Grant Ave
- 4:30pm - 7pm Friday June 18 or
- 11:30am - 2pm Saturday June 19
Registration closes Friday June 18 and you need to submit your results by Monday June 21
4 Ways to signup:
- FUNDRAISERS register for FREE and agree to raise $100 minimum for your Cause. OR
- Register for the REGULAR price of $15 and support a partnering Cause with a minimum donation of $15 for a total of $30 (all taxes, processing and admin fees included). Race Roster will send your donation directly to the Cause and email you an income tax receipt. HOWEVER
- As a special thank you to our Manitoba Runners' Association (MRA) Members we will waive the $15 registration fee, all you will need to do is make a minimum $15 donation to one of our Partnering Causes. Please have your Membership number ready for validation. AND NON-MRA Members have the option to join the MRA and receive the $15 discount in the same transaction!
- For many, finances are tough right now. If that's you, register as a SUPPORTER. This is a Medal-less option so it's FREE to register with no minimum donation.
3 DISTANCES to choose from: Walk or Run 3K, 5K or 10K! Next, choose your Cause from our list of partners and Fundraise if you're able. Our Causes need help now, more than ever, so if you're able, please consider being a Fundraiser. You will have a 3 week period, JUNE 1st-21st to complete your Walk or Run.
We have unique, up-cycled Finisher Medals that were purchased following fair trade principles. These medals were created by a Haitian artist who uses scrap metal and are made entirely by hand. To receive a medal, be one of the first 400 paid registrants or Fundraisers who have successfully raised a minimum of $100 in donations. We hope to have a pickup option and mail out the remaining medals. If you live outside of Canada, there is an additional charge for shipping. Thank you!
You’ll receive an email about Runkeeper, inviting you to download and use their App to track your results. This is optional, if you are interested in posting results, you are allowed to use whatever tracking system you’re comfortable with. Please note that this email includes instructions for using other ways to track your results.
Results: Be sure to complete your Walk or Run JUNE 1st-21st. When you have completed your Challenge, Congratulations! If you are using Runkeeper, you are done:) If not, take a screen shot of your results. Click on 'View Results', then 'Submit a virtual result' (you'll need your confirmation number), enter your time and send your screen shot. Your individual results will be posted automatically.
Also, your Fundraiser or Paid Virtual R4YC Run/Walk results will be accepted by MRA Celebration Series and both of the MRA Race Series. (Classic Series: 5K and Youth Series: 5K & 3K). If you are not an MRA member, it's easy to get to know us, just click the link on this page to the MRA website and remember you can register for R4YC and get your 2021 membership all on the same transaction.
