The Mission of 632 Phoenix Air Cadet Squadron is to contribute to the development and preparation of youth for the transition to adulthood, enabling them to meet the challenges of modern society, through a dynamic community-based program. The Vision of 632 Phoenix Air Cadet Squadron is to provide a relevant, credible and proactive youth development organization, offering the program of choice for Canada’s youth, preparing them to become the leaders of tomorrow through a set of fun, challenging, well-organized and safe activities. The Aim of the Air Cadet Program is to develop in youth the attributes of good citizenship and leadership, promote physical fitness and stimulate the interest of youth in the air activities of the Canadian Forces.
There are two components of the Air Cadet Squadron training program:
- Mandatory training: weekly training nights on Wednesdays, and a number of weekend exercises.
- Optional training: extracurricular teams such as band, ground school, drill team, marksmanship, sports and effective speaking.
On a yearly basis, prior to COVID19, 632 Phoenix Air Cadet squadron has a membership of approximately 150 youth in the Ottawa community. This squadron is operated through a strong partnership of approximately Department of National Defense and Air Cadet league staff and volunteers.
