Beta Sigma Alpha, Sororidad Latina is launching its very first BSA ScholarSteps Virtual 5k to raise funds for its annual book scholarship!
The Alma Maldonado-Cordner Book Scholarship provides funds for graduating Latina high school students and undergraduate Latina students in CT, NY, NJ, and MA to help cover the cost of course books.
BSA ScholarSteps 5k is a chance for you to meet your fitness goals while helping a worthy cause. We invite individuals, groups, and families to participate in this fun event! This event is open to participants of all ages and abilities.
Please use #BSAScholarSteps to share photos and updates of your run/walk on social media! You can also follow the event on Beta Sigma Alpha's Facebook page.
We will publish the top finishing times and you can see how you measured up against everyone else who participated. Registration is open until Sunday, June 27 at 12pm (EST).
Beta Sigma Alpha will award special prizes in the following race time categories:
- Fastest adult female
- Fastest adult male
- Fastest teenager female
- Fastest teenager male
- Fastest child
**For all participants who register and/or donate by June 1, 2021, Beta Sigma Alpha will send you a special gift while supplies last!!**

ASICS Runkeeper App™ Instructions
Step 1: Connect your registration
On your mobile device, download the app and add your registration by clicking through the Runkeeper email received after registering.
Step 2: Record your participation
When you’re ready to participate:
- Open the Runkeeper app on a mobile device
- Visit the “start” tab
- Tap the in-app checkered flag and select your event
- Follow the prompts to record your participation

- Multiple event distances or participants under one Race Roster account
If you signed up for more than one distance within the same event, or signed up multiple individuals for the same event, please visit your Race Roster dashboard, select this event and then use the “Connect to App” button for each event distance or person. To send to a friend, copy and paste that connect to app button link and share it with them. - How to record your participation with the Runkeeper app
To record your participation with the Runkeeper app, you will need to track your activity using your phone or with a connected wearable. You can track your participation using your Fitbit, Garmin, or Apple Watch earlier. You must download the Runkeeper app and connect your device prior to starting your activity. Please make sure you run the full distance (to the decimal point) to ensure your result is posted.

At this time, the Runkeeper app is unable to link to Suunto, Coros or Polar, but you can use your iPhone or Android.
