This month I am taking part in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon 5K Charity Run to raise funds for North York Community House (NYCH) where I have served on the board for the past 6 years.
NYCH is a non-profit organization neighbourhood centre that provides vital programs and services to support children, youth, adults, seniors, families and newcomers in marginalized communities in the north west quadrant of Toronto.
If you are able to, I would appreciate it if you could suuport me by making a donation below.
Newcomers and their families face numerous barriers to starting their new lives here in Canada. Your kindness will create opportunities for them to settle successfully, thrive in their new settings and become leaders in the community.
Every year, over 17,000 people come through our doors to access the programs and services we offer. Through generous donations like yours, new immigrants and refugees will receive free, one-on-one settlement help; immigrant professionals will develop their skills for workplace success; newcomer youth will feel more welcome in their new schools; families in under-resourced neighbourhoods will be encouraged to get active and stay healthy.
All funds raised by NYCH through the 2021 Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon will support innovative children, youth, and family programs – providing opportunities for residents in northwest Toronto to gain confidence, build skills, and lead positive change in their neighbourhoods.
