I am a Mental Health Advocate. Back in 2019, my life went into a downward spiral as uncontrollable circumstances, resulting in past triggers have finally caught up to me. I was in denial of my state of mind and my stress, which evidently put myself in a chronic state of anxiety and depression.
I am grateful for who were there for me when I needed it the most, as I had the opportunity to go on a journey and find out why I was a product of mental illness, not just for this year, but in the past unknowingly. This journey allowed me to better understand why I am who I am, and how to not only cope, but conquer my Mental Health every single day.
I am once again running the Scotiabank Waterfront 10K Marathon in an effort to fundraise for JACK.ORG. This charity aims to support Mental Health for youths, which I fully support their mission statement. I believe that everybody has a story to tell and wants to conquer their struggles in life. I'm here to let everybody know who is struggling that, everything is going to be OK! I plan to promote this charity until the race begins, so please feel free to support me by donating or sharing this post to #SupportMentalHealth. Thank you. :)
Run for Jack.org because you refuse to stay idle while suicide remains the leading health related cause of death for youth in Canada. Run to show solidarity with the thousands of young leaders who are revolutionizing mental health in their diverse communities. Run to create a future Canada without shame, where those who need support get the help they deserve.
Join our team and sport a Jack.org t-shirt that reads “This is what a mental health advocate looks like”. When you cross that finish line, you’ll get us that much closer to ending the youth mental health crisis in Canada.
