Raise money for Lumara Grief and Bereavement Care

Come be apart of an awesome community who are working together to raise money for a very special cause!!! With the ongoing support of people like you, Lumara has been performing magic and making history. We hope that each of our team members will continue to bring their amazing energy to our team but also help by raising at least $100 each for this event. Remember you can do the race in one day or spread it out over several days, whatever you are most comfortable with! Don't miss out on this great opportunity to engage in outdoor activity with fellow friends, family and colleagues. We promise your Scotiabank Charity Challenge run event will be filled with feel-good moments where you’ll get to be apart of Lumara Alumni, staff and volunteers who are making a difference for individuals and families whose lives have been turned upside-down by the tragic loss. Description

Many of us imagined running the 2021 Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Charity Challenge in person this year; sweating as a team, our friends and family cheering from the sidelines. While it’s disappointing that we won’t be together again this year as a result of the pandemic, vaccines are on their way and there is a lot of reason to be hopeful that we will resume to some sort of normal soon.

While we wait for that day to come, getting out and getting active is an important way to maintain our overall health, both physically and mentally. That’s why we're thrilled to host this year’s “virtual race”.

Be a part of the virtual support team working towards our individual running goals. Choose from a half-marathon, 5k – or whatever distance you wish to challenge yourself with.

1.    Run together (but apart): There is no timing, no finish line freezies, and definitely no high fives… but it’s a way to accomplish a feat bonded as a team during these isolating times.  <REGISTER NOW>

2.    Run on your own: Run at your own pace how and when it works for you. <REGISTER NOW>

3.    Donate to support the team: If you are unable to participate, but still wish to support the team, we would greatly appreciate a donation as we work towards reaching our event’s fundraising goal. <DONATE NOW>

In the past the Charity Challenge has helped the Lumara Society raise a considerable amount of money that plays a vital role in the organization’s operations. As this crisis continues and Canadians face grief, loss, anxiety and other mental health challenges, Lumara’s support services will be more important than ever. This is why we hope you’ll join us in running and fundraising for those who are grieving.

We hope you’ll join us! ♥
