The Top of the State Run is promoted as a family event. Proceeds from this event support the Weed High School cross country program.
Along with the two highly competitive races, we also offer an enjoyable 2-mile option for walkers that follows the Bear Trail around the COS campus. This is a nice shaded trail that follows the final two miles of the 10K race. Walkers will need to be alert for 10K runners approaching from behind.
Races start and end at the College of the Siskiyous campus in Weed, CA. All races start at 8:00.
COURSES: The 2-mile course is entirely on local roads. The 10K course is on approximately 4 miles of local roads and asphalt bike trails followed by about 2 miles of dirt trail. Water will be available at aid stations along the route. Runners will encounter moderate hills on both courses.
AWARDS: Trophies will be presented to the top male and female runner in each race. Ribbons will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each 10-year age division.
FEES: $25 through July 24th, $30 after July 24th.
FAMILY DISCOUNT: We also offer a family discount of $5 per participant for families of 3 or more. This discount will appear on the final payment page of your online registration.

Travel Directions:
From the south on Interstate 5 (Mount Shasta, Redding) - take the Central Weed exit (#747) and turn left - take the first right onto College Ave. and continue about 3 blocks and you'll see the COS campus on your left.
From the north on Interstate 5 (Yreka, Oregon) - take the Central Weed exit (#747) and turn right - take the first right onto College Ave. and continue about 3 blocks and you'll see the COS campus on your left.
From Hwy 97 (Lake Shastina, Klamath Falls) - follow Hwy 97 through Weed - then take the first right after passing under the freeway onto College Ave. Continue about 3 blocks and you'll see the COS campus on your left.
