Athletics Alberta Whitemud Park, Edmonton
Join us for this fun and unique 5X1 km relay. Each person on the team completes the same 1 km loop. It can also be done with teams of less than five or as an individual (you just run more than one loop to total 5km). We expect to be out of Covid restrictions by July 10! You will receive shirts, bibs and a combined team time. This is a great way for distance track athletes to get in some focussed training! It's also a great family activity.

How to register a team
Team captains are the first to register for a team and will be asked for a team name when registering. You can register some or all of your team members by selecting "add a participant" at the bottom of the registration page. To add an adult participant choose the "adult team member" option; to add a child (17 & under) choose the "youth team member" option. The pricing is different so be sure to choose the correct option. If you don't want to register all members at once, you will be given a link that you can share with team members who can then register themselves and be added to your team.
Covid protocols
We will update these protocols as we get closer to the date. If Alberta moves to stage 3 of re-opening as expected at the end of June or early July, protocols will be removed. If we're still in stage 2, here are some of the things you can expect:
- Team spaces will be marked on the grass with appropriate distance between each group.
- The first start will be rolling with one person starting every 5 seconds.
- Distance markers will be in place at the start.
- The start and finish line will be slightly apart but close enough to see when one team member finishes so the other starts.
- Sanitizer will be readily available.
