Raising Funds for VISION CARE
I, Steve, have the privilege of being able to run in this year's Road2Hope event. I've been training for some time and hope to achieve a personal goal of running sub 22:30 in the 5km event.
It is an extreme privilege to be raising funds for Medical Ministry International for the purpose of Vision Care in countries like Bolivia, Mexico, Columbia and India. The $10k goal is lofty but one that is attainable as we work together. You can learn more about the program here: https://www.mmi.org/vision-care
As many of you know, I am drawn to vision care as a result of my own ocular emergency in 2014, a retinal detachment, followed by cataract surgeries in both eyes. I experienced these surgeries before I was 50 years old. I'm so thankful for the care I received and for the 20/20 vision I still have today.
from the 2019 Road2Hope
Did you know that surgeries in Ontario are roughly $100/minute? Due to the generous donation of services by many health care workers and Surgeons, the cost to perform surgeries in these countries is just a fraction of our cost.
I invite you to join me in running, walking or donating.
