Pittsfield Balloon Rally’s Frank H. Donovan 5K

Pittsfield Balloon Rally’s Frank H. Donovan Virtual 5K July 31st - August 8th, 2021

With the cancellation of the Pittsfield Balloon Rally this year, the Frank H. Donovan 5K is going virtual! We invite all of our participants to complete the 5K course of your choice between the dates of July 31st and August 8th and then submit your confirmation of finishing the course. We will mail t-shirts to everyone who completes a 5K walk or run within this time period. We appreciate your support with keeping our scholarship fund going, and we look forward to seeing everyone back in person for the race next year. Please save the date for August 7th, 2022!

More about Frank and the scholarship in his name: Frank was a long-time member of the Pittsfield Rotary Club and a regular volunteer at the annual Balloon Rally. He helped with planning the Rally's 5K for many years and was committed to supporting road races across NH through his involvement with Northeast Delta Dental sponsorships. Though not a runner himself, Frank was a dedicated "speed walker" and biker, an avid tennis player, and he loved skiing and hiking in the White Mountains. He believed in encouraging everyone to enjoy exercise and continued his regular workouts throughout his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. All proceeds from the race will benefit the Frank H. Donovan Scholarship Fund to help support deserving local high school students who are pursuing post-secondary education.
