Round Rarotonga Virtual Race 2021

Well up until a couple of weeks ago it seemed like we were all on for welcoming back international competitors to our lovely island for the 44th edition of Round Rarotongo Road Race.

And then our good friends in New Zealand were hit with a lockdown. To say we are disappointed is an understatement but everyone’s health is more important.

So we are back at it again for 2021 doing a Virtual version for those who can’t be with us in person.

The Round Rarotonga Road Race is an annual event run by Athletics Cook Islands, that sees athletes complete running around our beautiful island in the unique distance of 31kms.

The money that we raise directly from Round Raro each year, goes into our youth athletics program, where we send a team to compete at the NZ Secondary Schools Athletics Championships.

This experience for our athletes is immense and not only does it give them a chance to compete at a quality event, but they get to experience all that goes with it, from travel to nutrition to race day preparation and more.

So even though we can’t have you in Rarotonga this year, your Virtual participation will still go towards these athletes.

Grab your friends and family, get your GPS out and run 31km around your home to see how you stack up against other international competitors or maybe just to have bragging rights over a family member!

How Does It Work?

• On 25-26 September the Round Rarotonga Virtual Race will be happening! Run your goal distance, record it on your device, and upload it here.
• Once we have received your confirmed run; you’ll be added to our official results page. See where you rank!
• Upon submission you’ll receive your virtual medal and certificate.
