THIS EVENT IS A FITTING TRIBUTE TO A RESPECTED ATHLETE Lyndon Ellefson, a Barron native, died July 10, 1998 after falling into a deep crevasse in the Italian Alps. Lyndon, 39, was the son of Nyles and Ruth Ellefson and a 1977 graduate of Barron High School. Lyndon lived in Vail, CO with his wife Tashina and their two sons Sylvan and Kjell. He was scheduled to compete in the Skyrunning World Championship in Cervania, Italy on July 12, 1998. He was making a training run at the time of the accident.
