Event Details
We are better together. That's why on Sunday, October 3rd Let's come together for the first All City Mile. Make it your fastest mile or your funnest or both - you decide! We just hope that you'll come out.
This event is cohosted by Club Seattle Runner's Division (CSRD) and Seattle Green Lake Running Group (SGLRG) , and we are inviting all to come run with us and give back to the community! Your registration fee is pay what you can - $10, $20, or $30 with all proceeds going to Girls on the Run Puget Sound. When you register, you will be asked to indicate your goal mile time. This will help us place runners into heats helping to keep the energy high in each group while managing group size. The timing of each heat will be determined a few days prior to the event.
The mile run will be held on the track with official timing. We've also partnered with the Runners High Club, and their coaches will be leading runners through a dynamic warm up in small groups before they hit the track.
We're excited to also highlight some of our local businesses including Black Coffee Northwest who will be serving coffee and other beverages and local restaurants that will be serving food at the track.
Girls on the Run Puget Sound
Girls on the Run Puget Sound is an evidence-based, physical activity-based program for girls in grades 3-5 and 6-8 across the Puget Sound region. During the program, girls learn specific skills and strategies such as how to manage emotions, help others, make intentional decisions, and resolve conflict. Additionally, girls are inspired to make a meaningful contribution to society through the development of a community impact project.
The program ends with a celebratory, non-competitive 5K. The program is flexible and fluid, offering a variety of ways to participate based on local community needs. From safely meeting in small teams to connecting virtually, or providing at home resources, our trained coaches are ready to help girls grow.
Girls on the Run has continued to meet in small teams in person and virtually during the pandemic following all local safety regulations. It continues to be an important social and emotional space for girls. Girls on the Run relies heavily on fundraising to provide programming as well as running gear and other materials to girls. We are excited to be able to come together for this first all city mile and support Girls on the Run Puget Sound.
