Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cancellation policy?
If Run Calgary cancels the in-person race due to an increase of local COVID-19 cases or on the direction of local or provincial authorities, participants will be informed as soon as possible, and everyone will be automatically registered in the virtual race. This event will not be rescheduled.
When should I register?
Registration opens to the general public on Friday November 05, 2021 at noon MT and participation is limited to the first 800 runners/walkers - so register fast to ensure your spot. If the limit is not reached, registration for in-person will close at 4:30PM on September 7th, registration for virtual will remain open until September 18th. There is no race day registration for in-person.
Can I receive a refund, or defer my entry to another date?
No refunds can be issued.
If you are displaying COVID-19 symptoms prior to race day or at the race location, you will be allowed to defer your registration. Please email info@runcalgary.com for directions.
Are masks required?
At this time, masks are not mandatory, however participants may choose to wear them. Should the City of Calgary or the Province of Alberta change their messaging around masking at outdoor group events, Run Calgary will require masks. In the case that masks are recommended, masks will be required to be worn in all start and finish areas on site and until you have crossed the start line. Masks would not need to be worn on course while running, but should not be discarded and must be put back on before you exit the finish chute. Masks can be removed after you finish if you are actively eating or drinking.
What on-course amenities will be available?
There will be one Aid Station on-course providing water and Nuun electrolyte drink to participants.
What post-race amenities will be available?
Runners will pick-up their medal, water and Nuun electrolyte drink, wine glass, and post-race meal immediately after the finish line. One bag per runner, please. Wine will be served post-race in the access-controlled area where the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra will be playing.
Where should I park?
Parking in East Village is limited. Walk or C-Train to downtown if possible. The City Hall C-Train station is the closest station and is a 10 minute walk to the start line. Street parking is free after 6:00 PM. Additional parking can also be found at the Calgary Zoo West lot, adjacent to St. Patrick's Island
Will there be a bag check?
Yes. Bag check will open at 5:00 PM on race day. We encourage you to carry your valuables with you or leave them at home as we are not responsible for lost items.

Are strollers permitted?
No, strollers are not allowed at this event. You must be 18 years or older to participate in this event due to the distribution of alcohol.

Only registered runners are allowed in to the pre-start, start, and finish area and they must be 18 years and older.
Can I run with my dog/pet?
We love four-legged friends, but this event is not for them. Start thinking about their costume when they can run/walk the Dash of Doom with you on October 29, 2022.
What happens at the finish line?
After crossing the finish line, runners will be funneled into an access-controlled area to watch the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra concert. All runners will receive recovery amenities, which will include water, medal, wine glass and wine.
