Florida Turkey Trot Volunteer Info
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Florida Turkey Trot. Your support helps produce a fantastic race experience for both runners and spectators in our community, allowing area families to make the Florida Turkey Trot part of their Thanksgiving tradition. Please see below for a description of volunteer opportunities available:
Packet Pick Up: Help participants as they check in and get their race day bib assignment, shirt and packet.
Course Marshals (aka The Cheering Squad!): Course Marshals will be placed on the course by the Fit2Time Course Manager and will be responsible for ensuring runners stay on course and pedestrians do not interfere with the race. Course Marshals will cheer runners and walkers on along the way!
Finish Line Crew: Finish Line Crew Members will ensure water is on the tables at the finish line area and medals are being handed out
Start Corrals: Start Corrals Volunteers will ensure runners maintain social distancing and have face coverings prior to starting the race. They will direct participants on where to stage before staring and escort the corral to the staring line during their starting block scheduled time.
Clean Up Crew: Support the NBP and Fit2Time Team with tear down and clean up of the race site.
Water Station: Hand out bottles of water to runners, pick up empty bottles, and cheer on runners as they pass through.
Kids Dash Crew: Organize age groups prior to race, hand out medals, and cheer on the kids during the race.
You may request the volunteer roles you are most interested in, but please be aware you may be assigned an alternate responsibility based on the needs of the event. Volunteers who sign up for multiple positions will be assigned multiple positions, so feel free to sign up for more than 1 job, as long as the times do not overlap! Volunteers will receive an email on or before 11.21 with their race day assignment as well as race day contact info and check in instructions.
