NOTE: You must create a Race Roster account before you register as a volunteer. Volunteers must be a minimum age of 12. Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Each year, the Fredericton Marathon relies heavily on volunteers from the general public and running community to help us successfully hold this amazing event. To say we wouldn't be able to do this without those people is an extreme understatement!
Being a volunteer can require standing for long periods of time, lifting things, dealing with many different types of people, helping runners and being good at taking direction. On a weekend. In changing weather. Our volunteers are amazing people for so many reasons!
If you can help us out this year, we would be forever grateful. As a volunteer, you have the opportunity to do something positive for our community. And that is a pretty amazing feeling.
Please sign up for one or more positions, as you see fit. If you sign up for more than one, please double check to make sure the times don't overlap. You can't be in two places at once!

VOLUNTEER GUIDELINES:
We strive to ensure our volunteers have a meaningful experience! Please take a moment to review the following volunteer guidelines. As race weekend approaches, you will receive any additional instructions you may need.
When you sign up, you commit to being present for that specific shift(s) during the entire length of that shift(s). Life sometimes gets in the way of commitments, so if on the day of your scheduled shift you cannot make your shift, please be considerate and notify your captain right away. If you need to cancel before the day of the event, please contact the Volunteer Directors at frederictonmarathonvolunteers@gmail.com.
Familiarize yourself with the race prior to your shift--some volunteer positions may require answering questions from runners and spectators. Familiarize yourself with this event by reading our website, www.frederictonmarathon.com.
Please check in with your captain upon arrival and prior to leaving when your shift is finished. During your shift, follow instructions from your captain. If you need to leave early in the case of an emergency, please let your captain know.
Our volunteers are a reflection of our community. Volunteers should treat athletes, captains, guests, other volunteers, and racecourse neighbours with the utmost courtesy and respect. Please pick up after yourself, keep the noise to a minimum during the early hours, and refrain from using profanity.
Thank you in advance!!
