Oceania Para Athletics Championships

The Oceania Athletics Championships will take place in Mackay, Australia from June 7th to 11th.

The Championships in Mackay are the Oceania Para Athletics Championships.

Oceania Athletics will run a sanctioned World Athletics Para meet. Medals will be awarded in all Para Events and will be awarded based on the RAZA system or an approved MDS table, which will be made available prior to the competition. There will be a medal awarded for ambulant athletes, and a medal awarded for secured/wheelchair athletes.

The para competition will be a Senior Competition ONLY. Implement weights for throwing events are listed in Technical Rules for the Para Competition and can be found on the Oceania Athletics Website.

There will be no entry standards for the Para Competition. Athletes will need to have submitted Season Best Performances.

Entry Fee will be applicable for the Para Competition. $20 competition levy plus $10 per event.

Para Athletes will only be able to enter relevant events according to their class, which can be found on the Oceania Athletics Website, and must nominate during the entry process.

Para Athletes will need to hold at least a national classification to be eligible to compete at the Oceania Athletics Championships.

Athletes will need to be 14 years (born in 2008 or before) and above to be entered in Para events. As this is a Senior Competition, for the throwing events only SENIOR Implement weights will be used.

Final Entries due in the OAA Entry System by 13^th May 2022.
