Dear Earth Day 5K Participant:

Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, the Miami-Dade Solid Waste Management Department’s 2022 Earth Day 5K Run/Walk planned for April 30, 2022, has been postponed until Fall 2022. Hosting a health and fitness event at our closed 58th Street Landfill while at the same time celebrating our beautiful South Florida environment and supporting United Way Miami remains a top priority for Solid Waste Management. Our event in the fall will be just as exciting and rewarding for our participants. As such, we are providing you with the option of a full refund or the opportunity to roll over your registration to the 5K event this fall. Stay tuned for more information on the new date.

Debido a circunstancias imprevistas fuera de nuestro control, el evento de carrera/caminata 2022 Earth Day 5K del Departamento de Administracion de Desechos Solidos del Condado Miami-Dade, el cual estaba programado para el dia 30 de abril del 2022, ha sido pospuesto hasta el otoño del 2022. Organizar un evento de salud y acondicionamiento físico en nuestro vertedero cerrado de la 58 calle del NW mientras celebramos el medio ambiente bonito del sur de la Florida y le demos el apoyo a United Way Miami sigue siendo una prioridad para el departamento. Nuestro evento en el otoño será igual de emocionante y gratificante para nuestros participantes. Como tal, le brindamos la opción de un reembolso completo o la oportunidad de transferir su registro al evento 5K este otoño. Estén atentos para más información sobre la nueva fecha.

In celebration of Earth Day, the Miami-Dade County Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) invites you to attend its 1st in-person Earth Day 5K fun run or walk to benefit the United Way Miami.

You will be able to complete your run or walk on TBA, at the 58th Street Landfill in Doral.

This is a unique opportunity to learn about the history of Miami-Dade’s landfills, the Resources Recovery Facility, DSWM, its partners, and the United Way Miami.

What: Earth Day 5K fun run or walk

Where: The 58th Street Landfill 6997 NW 97 Ave, Doral, FL

RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP OPENS AT 6:00 AM

Receive official race t-shirt, race bib number, and goodie bags

(while supplies last)

WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING?

1. Valid ID
2. Self-supporting hydration (Reusable water bottle). Water and energy drinks will be provided as well.
3. Phone
4. There is no gear check, please leave valuables at home.

Main Parking Entrance:

6565 NW 97th Ave, Doral, Florida (Entrance on the right heading North)

COURSE & FINISH LINE

The course will be marked with cones, mile markers, and arrows. Please do not venture outside the marked areas. Challenge yourself with this unique course and come see who will be crowned the King and Queen of the Hill - Miami

AID STATION

You may carry your reusable water bottle. Water Station will also be available at approximately the half way point and the finish line.
