Registrations for the Sorrento Bay Swim are now open!

The pandemic saw the cancellation of the Swim in 2021, followed by a virtual event held in 2022, so we are really excited to be returning live in 2023, as part of the Great Victorian Swim Series (GVSS)!

The Swim is a major fundraising activity for the Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club, raising funds to purchase important safety equipment to help keep our beaches safe. The 2023 event will be the 19th year of the Swim, and we will again be offering the popular 4,000m swim, with the 2,000m and 600m swim making up the program on the day. The tide assisted 4,000m course from Camerons Bight to The Baths Jetty on Sorrento Foreshore was very popular when it was introduced in 2020, so we will continue to offer this course in 2023. With entries expected to be around 500 swimmers, and catering for both elite athletes and novices of all ages, we are planning to deliver our best event yet!

Entry Details

Online entry fees for 2023 are $46.56 for 600m (Junior 8+ & Novice), $75.66 for the 2,000m (12+) & 4,000m (Elite 18+) swims (Open, Seniors, Masters, Grand Master, & Legends), and a discounted entry fee of $151.32 is available for those wishing to compete in both the 2,000m & 4,000m swims on the day. Please note all entry fees are inclusive of GST and Race Roster fees, so there will be no additional charges during checkout. GVSS members will also receive a 5% discount on all online entries.

Join early to avoid the price rises. If you enter online for the 2,000m and/or 4,000m event before 1 December 2022, you will receive an early bird discount. Please note that if you are planning to pay cash on the day of the event, entries will cost $50, $80, and $155 respectively.

All participants receive an event t-shirt (enter before 1 December 2022 to ensure receipt of your nominated t-shirt) and a coloured swim cap (each race has a different colour cap) in their race pack.

Registration will occur on arrival on the Sorrento Foreshore (near The Baths Restaurant) in the Finish Line area, and swim briefings will be given in front of the Race Director’s tower in the same area. Courtesy buses will be available to transport entrants to the 2,000m and 4,000m start lines. Please arrive early to make sure you get to the start line on time!

Please note the timing devices need to be worn on the wrist and they must be returned to a volunteer at the finish line (non-returned timing tags and straps will cost $93.50).
