April 27th 2023 will mark the 20-year anniversary of our son, Kaidyn Blair's liver transplant. To honour his donor and celebrate life, Kaidyn, our family, and friends are organizing a green mile walk starting in Essex and continuing to Windsor Regional Hospital (half marathon) on Saturday, April 22nd. We have partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities Southwestern Ontario, a charity that is near and dear to our hearts.
Kaidyn was born with biliary atresia, a congenital absence or closure of the major bile ducts that drain the bile from the liver. At 3 months old Kaidyn was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and at that time, was listed for transplant. Weighing 13 lbs. at 1 year old, Kaidyn finally received his gift of life. Kaidyn has lived his life to the fullest, never taking his gift for granted. Since the transplant, Kaidyn has been an ambassador for organ donation. Through sharing his story, Essex has increased from 16% registered donors to 52% where it stands today. Although Kaidyn is facing many health challenges, he continues to amaze us with his positive outlook and lease on life.

Registration Costs:
14 and older = $25
6 – 13 years old = $20
5 and younger = $15
Please note: To sign up for just the Green Mile, please register under “Green Mile.” To sign up for the full half-marathon which includes the Green Mile, please sign up for “Half Marathon Walk.” You do not need to sign up for both.
