Lynnsie's Run 2023 is Cancelled...
We have made the tough decision to cancel Lynnsie’s run this year. SAC Brant is run by a small team, and while many non-profit organizations have someone in a dedicated fundraising role, we do not. Our fundraising efforts fall on the shoulders of a volunteer board of directors and on staff members who are already working full time as counsellors, and community builders, and we are tired.
SAC Brant saw a 500% increase in service requests over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, and we have worked above and beyond our maximum capacity for the last three years to support our community.
We’re going to take a moment to catch our breath, and we’ll have more information in the coming months about the future of Lynnsie’s Run.
We really appreciate everyone who has been out training and collecting donations for this year’s event, and we hope you’ll consider leaving your donation with us. We rely heavily on your donations, and with them we’ve been able to offer free counselling, community education and a 24-hour crisis and support line for almost 30 years!
If you have any questions about our decision to cancel Lynnsie’s Run 2023, please be in touch with renu@sacbrant.ca.

Lynnsie’s Run Cancellation - FAQ
I collected donations for Lynnsie’s Run via Race Roster, what happens now?
Please offer the people who have donated to your Race Roster page for Lynnsie’s Run one of the following options: they can be refunded, or they can leave their donation with SAC Brant.
If the folks sponsoring you would like to leave their donation with SAC Brant, there are no more steps, their donation to you via Race Roster will make it’s way to us, and we will issue receipts for all donations over $25.
If they would like to be refunded, they can email jess@sacbrant.ca with the subject ‘Run Refund’ and we will issue a refund.
I collected donations for Lynnsie’s Run, in-person on a paper pledge sheet, what happens now?
Please offer the folks who sponsored you the following options: they can get their money back from you (via a direct refund from you) or they can leave their donation with you, and you can arrange for the funds to be collected by SAC Brant.
To arrange for your funds to be collected, please be in touch with jess@sacbrant.ca. Receipts will be issued for all individual donations over $25.
I still want to support SAC Brant, how can I donate?
Even though we aren’t hosting Lynnsie’s Run, donations are still very important to funding the necessary work we do in the community. We welcome donations in any amount, and we’re able to issue tax receipts for donations over $25.
By cash or cheque, in person: Sexual Assault Centre of Brant, 134 King George Road, N3R 5K9
Cheques can be dropped in our mailbox, be sure to include your name and mailing address for a tax receipt.
For cash donations, please call 519-751-1164 to arrange to a drop-off or pick-up.
Online, visit our CanadaHelps page to make an online donation: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/12504?v2=true
If SAC isn’t doing its annual fundraiser, does that mean it doesn’t need any financial support?
Quite the opposite. We are in need of financial support now more than ever. Requests for our services have risen 500% over the duration of the pandemic, and our funding from government and grant funders only covers roughly 60% of our needs. That means we rely on generous donations from community members to ensure that our work can continue at no cost to those who need it.
Please consider making a donation or encouraging those in your circles to make a donation to SAC Brant in the coming months. We’re turning 30 at the end of May, maybe you’d like to give $30?
Will Lynnsie’s Run be happening in 2024?
We’re still figuring out what is feasible for us as a small non-profit organization, but we promise we’ll keep you all in the loop as we determine the future of Lynnsie’s Run.
