Why I support The Pittsburgh Project
Last year my entire family participated in The Pittsburgh Marathon weekend activities. I ran the half marathon for the first time ever and it was crazy. But we had ton of fun training together along with some of our other friends from The Pittsburgh Project.
This year my wife Danitra and I will participate in the Pittsburgh Marathon Relay with other staff and friends of The Pittsburgh Project. She and I will be on the same relay team for the first time ever which is awesome! Alana and Elijah will be running the 1-mile Kids Marathon with a few of their friends.
We are running to raise funds for The Pittsburgh Project; I am the Executive Director of TPP, so I am partial to the work that we do, but I am excited to run on behalf of the organization and the youth and families of the North Side of Pittsburgh. I'm excited to train with my family over the next few months and excited for all of the other runners who will be running with me!
I am not much of a runner, but I love the work that our organization does and I believe it's truly life changing so for that reason each year I'm willing to run to share our message with who ever will hear it! And if you'd like to run with me, feel free to join; I can promise that it will be at a turtle's pace, so you'll be able to keep up, lol!

The Pittsburgh Project strives to care for people by sharing hope, empowering youth and building community. We have served the residents of the Northside for the past 38 years. We offer innovative educational opportunities for children and youth K-12 grades, through summer camps and after school programs.
