My Story…
On May 5th this year, I will be running the Pittsburgh Marathon Relay in support of The Outlier Fund. The Outlier Fund works to bring hope to all those impacted by Glioblastomas. It was founded by family friends who continue to do the Lords work by raising awareness and funds for impactful research.
Ultimately, I was motivated to run this race and fundraise money for the The Outlier Fund by my wife Karlee, and her childhood friend Kerry. My wife Karlee is a hospice nurse, and though she may only rarely deal with Glioblastomas, she often encounters families who have loved ones suffering from a sort of cancer. Her continued work everyday and care she provides inspires me. But also, her best friend Kerry lost her mother to a Glioblastoma at a young age and has taken on responsibilities that no child should have to. Due to the passing of her mother Mary, Kerry had become the mother of her family of all boys. She is loving and caring, but sadly had that same motherly love taken from her. Karlees and my life have been changed for the better ever since Kerry entered. Her Mom would be beyond proud of the person she became today.
If you would like and have the ability to, I’d like to ask for any sort of donation to our Relay Team page, but at the very least, share this post so it reaches as many people as possible. In a time of division and hate, I believe we can all come together to find an end to cancer!
Donate to help Austin raise money for 2024 DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend’s fundraising campaign.
