Support Conservation Ecology Centre in the 2024 Great Ocean Trail Ultra.
Join Me in the Great Ocean Trail Ultra!
Hello, friends and nature lovers!
I’m Genevieve, a 59-year-young adventurer from Ballarat in Victoria, excited to run 100 kilometres in the Great Ocean Trail Ultra on October 26th, 2024! 🏃♀️💚
Running has transformed my life, bringing me physical strength, mental clarity, and wonderful friendships. This year, I’m thrilled to combine my love for running with my passion for the environment by raising funds for the Conservation Ecology Centre. Since 2000, they’ve been dedicated to preserving the breathtaking landscapes of the Otways, ensuring they remain vibrant and resilient for generations to come. Their innovative efforts have made a profound impact, earning the trust of both the community and local government.
The Otways are a vibrant tapestry of rainforests, stunning coastlines, cascading waterfalls, and diverse wildlife. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to spend much of my life exploring this unique paradise, sharing its beauty with my children and now my grandchildren—often fitting in a few runs along its breathtaking trails. How wonderful it is to now have the opportunity to give back and support one of the organisations dedicated to preserving this incredible landscape! 🌿✨
If you’d like to support my 100km journey and help the Conservation Ecology Centre continue their vital work, please consider donating to this worthy cause. Your generosity makes a difference!
Thank you for joining me on this adventure!
With gratitude,
Genevieve 💚
Description
Support the Conservation Ecology Centre in the 2024 Great Ocean Trail Ultra.
The Great Ocean Walk winds its way along the most stunning part of Victoria’s coastline. For almost 25 years, the Conservation Ecology Centre (CEC) has been working hard to protect these landscapes. Our research and conservation programs ensure the needs and threats of the wildlife found here are understood and managed.
Without this, the threatening processes facing our wildlife and landscapes can overwhelm them. The CEC are leading the way on delivering a collaborative and cohesive conservation strategy in the region, engaging all stakeholders from universities and Traditional Owners to public and private land managers.
By fundraising for the Conservation Ecology Centre, you can enjoy the visual splendour of the Great Ocean Walk knowing you are directly supporting vital conservation work to protect this landscape’s wildlife and their homes.
