My Story…
I'm thrilled to be running in Philadelphia this fall! One of the reasons I chose this marathon is because all runners are encouraged to fundraise for the race’s official charity partner, the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). Founded in 1907, the AACR is the world’s first and largest professional organization dedicated to advancing cancer research and its mission to prevent and cure cancer. I hope you’ll join me in making a contribution, where 88 cents of every dollar supports this cancer research through grants, fellowships, scientific education, and information for cancer patients and their families.
My donation to AACR is in memory of Lou Ann Didik, and in the hope that lung cancer survival rates continue to improve over the current five-year average of 28%. Cancer is no stranger to any of us, so I invite you to consider why your donation means something to you. If there is someone in your life who is facing this diagnosis, is living in remission, or who lost their battle with the disease, I hope you'll take a moment to think about them and contribute toward AACR's critical efforts.
