My Story…
I am excited to be racing with the American Association for Cancer Research for another year at the Philadelphia Half Marathon!
October, 2024 will mark 9 years without my father and 4 years without my mother-in-law, both whom we lost to cancer. There is no doubt that despite them no longer being on this earth, cancer research helped them stay with us just a bit longer.
This year, I will be running the Philly Half in honor of my Aunt Heidi who, after a courageous battle, passed on October 27.. Without cancer research, she would not have been able to have her successful Whipple surgery and countless successful chemo treatments. Thanks to the amazing care she received, we had 5 years with her following her diagnosis. Despite the hardships of her battle, my Aunt Heidi continued to love and support every one she cares for even on her hardest days. We, as a family, are so lucky and grateful to be able to love and support someone as wonderful as her.
I plan on running the 2024 Philly Half strong in honor of the immense strength of my Aunt Heidi. Thank you for considering donating! And also, in honor and memory of my Aunt Heidi, GO PHILLIES!
