My Story…
Pancreatic cancer…. Who knew it could be so devastating and deadly? Not me, until a year and a half ago when I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. 60 years old, newly retired and ready to enjoy life to the fullest with no schedules or deadlines, time was to be my own.
It’s been a scary year of weight loss, weight gain, no appetite, nausea, hair loss, brain fog, infections and overall weakness. All of this comes with chemo treatments that are badly needed in order to fight this terrible disease. I was fortunate enough to take part in a clinical trial along with standard of care treatment at Royal Victory Hospital in Barrie.
I am feeling much better and doing well in my battle. I am lucky to be here today and I’m thankful for all donations made to support any fight against cancer. The colour purple has taken on a whole new meaning for me and I truly understand the power of one more day.
Let’s turn one more day into many more years! 💜💜💜
